Bankers.
Former British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton has named six players he reckons are guaranteed to start the Test series against the Springboks as things stand.
Gatland is set to name his squad next month but as we all know, getting named in the squad is one thing, but starting a Test match for the Lions is the ultimate pinnacle.
And according to Warburton, six men Ireland’s Tadhg Furlong, England’s Maro Itoje, Tom Curry and Anthony Watson, Wales’ Taulupe Faletau as well as Scotland’s Stuart Hogg are the only men guaranteed to start this summer.
Warburton made the claim when asked about his Lions captain, with the former Wales man picking England’s Maro Itoje.
“Warren knows the pressure on the captain if they are not a guaranteed starter and I think there are six bankers to start a Test – Tadhg Furlong, Maro Itoje, Taulupe Faletau, Tom Curry, Anthony Watson and Stuart Hogg,” Warburton said.
