Shots fired (back).
Former England and Rugby League star, Sam Burgess, has fired back at Jamie Roberts following a rather cheeky insult from the Welshman.
Roberts spoke to Gavan Mairs in the Telegraph this week and noted how the entire Welshman team were absolutely delighted to see Burgess, who was a surprise inclusion in England’s World Cup following his switch from League to Union, starting in the centre for their huge pool match.
Wales famously won that game, with England going on to lose to Australia, before being infamously dumped out of the tournament as hosts, with many people using Burgess as a scapegoat for their failings.
In truth, Burgess didn’t actually play badly in that Wales game, and England were winning before he was replaced, something Burgess decided to point out, with Roberts yet to respond.
I’m sure when I left the field in this game we were leading by 10 points with 15 mins to go.. @Jamiehuwroberts collided with me a few times. I think they enjoyed the game a little better when I left the field 🤷🏽♂️ https://t.co/0C19CphTHW
