In the thick of it.
Ronan O’Gara could be in a spot of bother for some comments made in Racing 92’s loss to La Rochelle over the weekend. The former Munster and Ireland playmaker was far from impressed by a huge decision and could face a ban for his action.
With Racing losing 16-9 and chasing a draw, winger Teddy Thomas was penalised for a no-arms tackle, that upon video review, showed he did indeed wrap. The decision to award a penalty however, remained. O’Gara was on the sidelines at the time and let the official know how he felt.
He has been summoned to appear in front of LNR [league] officials for potential disciplinary action, stemming from how he addressed a match official in those closing minutes.
O’Gara may get off with a warning, but stricter sanctions include a touchline ban.
