Wanted man.
Ronan O’Gara will have his hands busy all this week as his La Rochelle side gets set to take on Leinster in the quarter-final stages of the Investec Champions Cup.
The two-time winners have defeated the Irish side in the last two finals, one at this weekend’s venue, the Aviva Stadium in Dublin – but they were defeated by Leinster in the pool stages this year.
And while the focus right now is firmly on that game, with La Rochelle flying to Cork for preparations this week, O’Gara is already planning ahead for next season and has a Munster star in his sights as a potential new signing.
Antoine Frisch recently came out and revealed that he has aspirations to play for France having trained with them during the Six Nations. He’ll likely be capped in the summer, leaving Munster in a tricky situation as he will then become an NIQ player.
Frisch is contracted until the end of next season but his recent comments mean he could leave as early as this summer, with the Irish Independent reporting that La Rochelle are among a number of French clubs interested in his signature.
