George Ford has agreed a deal to leave Bath & join Premiership rivals Leicester according to a report in the Times.
It’s been no secret that Ford is unhappy at Bath since the sacking of his father Mike. The England playmaker has 18 months to run on his contract, but is believed to have an option to leave with 12 months remaining, as long as his contract is bought out.
Sale were the favourites for his signature in recent weeks, but it appears the Tigers have managed to convince him to move to Leicester, Ford set to be made the highest paid English player in the Premiership.
The Tigers are reportedly set to pay him in excess of £450,000 a year, and it is thought the prospect of linking up with England half-back partner Ben Young also swayed Ford to make the move to the Rec.
A good move?
