Top dollar.
Rugby is lucky to have a huge amount of top-quality coaches in the game right now, but one stands far above the rest.
Rassie Erasmus’ record with South Africa since he took the reins of his country of birth back in 2018 is nothing short of outstanding, and for many, he’s the best coach in the world right now.
In fact, there’s an argument to say he’s the best coach the game has ever seen, having won back-to-back World Cups, multiple Rugby Championships, and a Lions series with South Africa, to name just a few of his outstanding achievements in the game to date.
And a new report has revealed that the 53-year-old earns over €1,000,000-a-season for his efforts.
“In 2024, Rassie earned R1.2 million a month, R14.4 million yearly. Fans argued it was too low! By 2025, rumours suggest his pay nears R20 million (€1,002,646), though SARU keeps details quiet,” an insider told The South African.
Quite a substantial amount of money for a coach in rugby, but money well spent when you look at what he has done for both the Springboks and South African rugby itself.
