This is what it means.
When Rassie Erasmus decided to leave Munster and head back to South Africa towards the end of 2017, the Springboks were in absolute tatters.
His decision to leave Munster alongside his right-hand man, Jacques Nienaber, was devastating for fans of the Irish province given the incredible job he did in turning them around after several disappointing seasons.
But his best was yet to come as he managed to completely transform the Springboks and lead them to a stunning Rugby World Cup win in 2019 – but that wasn’t enough for the proud South African.
Once again written off, Rassie and Jacques silenced the doubters again last weekend to win a second successive Rugby World Cup and it feels like this one might even have meant even more.
A video has emerged of Rassie arriving back in South Africa completely overcome with emotion. This is what it means to him. One of the greatest rugby coaches of all time.
And a brilliant character to boot.
