Huge blow.
Rassie Erasmus has revealed that Jaco Taute damaged his knee ligaments this afternoon in the bonus-point win over Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park. The South African centre was forced off just 18 minutes into the game, and looked to be in serious some serious pain.
Taute will have a scan on his knee next week in order to see the extent of the damage, but Erasmus maintains he faces a long spell on the sidelines.
Erasmus however remains positive and thinks Munster have the resources in the centre to cover.
“There’s a few guy that can play there. Rory (Scannell) can play there very well, Tyler (Bleyendaal) can slot in at centre, JJ (Hanrahan) can slot in a centre… There’s young Sam Arnold”
In other injury news Erasmus says Keith Earls is 90% ready to go for next week, while Simon Zebo and Jean Kleyn 50/50, with the latter’s neck injury not as serious as feared.
