Gone.
Wallabies boss Michael Cheika will not seek to have his contract renewed when it expires at the end of the year following Australia’s World Cup quarter-final exit to England on Saturday.
Cheika has been in charge of Australia since 2014, immediately guiding them to a Rugby Championship before reaching the final of the Rugby World Cup in 2015. He was then named World Rugby Coach of the Year as a result.
“It is no secret I have no relationship with the CEO [Raelene Castle] and not much with the chairman [Cameron Clyne],” Cheika was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Quade Cooper meanwhile, who did not make Cheika’s Rugby World Cup squad for Japan – took a pop at his former coach upon hearing the news.
If he actually cared about Aus rugby he would have done it a while ago..

Safe to say neither will be on each other’s Christmas card list this year.
