Slumped.
Things have gotten even worse for Rugby Australia following the controversial case of Israel Folau after Wallabies and Waratahs hooker Tolu Latu was reportedly found slumped behind the wheel and charged with drink driving.
The Sunday Telegraph have reported that Latu was found sleeping behind the wheel near Rugby Australia headquarters in Sydney around 4.30am on Thursday. It is alleged that police then stirred him and Latu recorded an alcohol reading of 0.135.
Rugby Australia meanwhile have released the following statement on the matter:
“Rugby Australia and New South Wales Rugby Union have been made aware today by the Daily Telegraph of an incident involving Wallabies and Waratahs hooker Tolu Latu.”
“Rugby Australia’s Integrity Unit is working with the New South Wales Rugby Union to ascertain all of the facts.”
Latu was named on the bench for today’s Waratahs match with the Reds, with the latter currently leading 22-14 at the time of writing.
