Ireland returned home today, broken and defeated but to open arms.
Players including Paul O’Connell, Tommy Bowe (both on crutches), Chris Henry, Jamie Heaslip and Johnny Sexton all stopped for photos with fans who had travelled out to greet them.
Ireland’s World Cup campaign ended on Sunday with a disappointing 43-20 defeat to Argentina at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, but fans still came out in their numbers to welcome home their fallen heroes.
