Peter O’Mahony is as Munster as you’ll get.
Following in the footsteps of legends like Paul O’Connell, Anthony Foley and Ronan O’Gara, O’Mahony will leave it all on the pitch every week for his beloved province. He’s the classic one club man, that will do anything for his side and his teammates.
The back-row forward is an inspirational leader and a warrior on the field, but above all- he’s a fan. Like many Munster player’s of old he grew up dreaming of one day representing his famous province.
As the late, great Anthony Foley once said:
“I’ve always grown up with the (mentality) I wanted to play for Munster more than anything. (If) you got the opportunity to play you know, you take it, you cherish it.”
O’Mahony grew up wanting to play for Munster all his life, watching legends like Peter Clohessy, Keith Wood, Paul O’Connell and of course Anthony Foley. The Munster captain shared a photo on Instagram tonight of him as a ballboy in Musgrave Park, that shows just how close to the action he was even back then.
A brilliant photo that truly epitomises Munster Rugby.
