Munster captain Peter O’Mahony made his long awaited return this past weekend following his devastating knee injury against France in last year’s Rugby World Cup.
The flanker was a second-half substitute in the southern province’s demolition of Italian minnows Zebre in the PRO12. O’Mahony’s return is sure to be a massive boost for both Munster and Ireland and comes at a crucial stage of the season as the Champions Cup and November internationals approach.
O’Mahony was speaking to the Limerick Post in the days leading up to the game and had one positive to take away from his lengthy period on the sidelines and that was witnessing the birth of his baby daughter in April and being able to spend some quality time with her.
I have plenty of pastimes outside of rugby. I had a little daughter in April as well, first one so I was kept on my toes with her.
That was probably good timing for everyone. The fact that I was around a bit more with that.
Following his return O’Mahony then posted this heartwarming image of him and his daughter in the Munster dressing room.
