What an excellent gift!
Nigel Owens is widely regarded as the best referee in the world. The Welshman has become famous for his no-nonsense attitude and brilliant one-liners, officiating some of the biggest games in World Rugby including last year’s Rugby World Cup final.
If there’s one thing Owens doesn’t tolerate it’s any behavior that resembles that of football in any way. If you talk back at Owens, dive or complain in any way, you will be given a right talking to.
This past weekend was a perfect example as Owens refereed Connacht’s game with Cardiff at the Sportsground. In that game he pulled both captains in to warn them that their players were constantly mouthing off and need to stop because they weren’t playing football!
The former World Referee of the Year shared a picture tonight of a brilliant mug you can now get with his famous words on it. The perfect gift this Christmas!
