This is nasty.
Connacht flanker Jake Heenan suffered a horrific hand injury in Thursday’s preseason outing against Montpellier, that will no doubt rule him out for the start of the season.
Heenan was caught by a stray boot at the bottom of a ruck in Connacht’s 21-19 loss to Jake White’s side that saw him rushed off to hospital. The Kiwi-born star ruptured a small artery and muscle but thankfully the nerves and tendons in his hand remained intact.
Before he went in for surgery to get his hand “tidied up”, Heenan shared a graphic image of the injury
Be warned, this image is graphic.
