My protector on the field.
Peter Stringer is the latest former teammate to tweet a heartbreaking message as he tries to come to terms with the tragic news of Anthony Foley’s untimely death.
Stringer and Foley spent many years together with both Ireland and Munster, fighting many a battle, hoisting many a trophy. They have won, they have lost- but no loss will ever be greater than that of the life of Axel.
“My protector on the field,’ Stringer calls Foley as he lays at home feeling ‘numb and alone.’ A dark day for Ireland, sleep well Anthony.
Feeling numb and alone with only thoughts of this remarkable man.My protector on the field,I will miss you forever Axel.
