Table toppers.
The All Blacks got back to winning ways this morning with an absolute demolition of Australia – defeating the Wallabies 36-0 at Eden Park to retain the Bledisloe Cup.
But their resounding win wasn’t enough to hold onto their place as the number one ranked team in the world, with the world champions losing their spot at the top for the first time in over ten years.
Wales’ 13-6 win over England means Warren Gatland’s men are the new number one ranked team in the world – for the first time in their history. They become just the fourth team to occupy top spot since 2003, after England, South Africa and the All Blacks.
An incredible day for Welsh rugby. Congratulations to all involved.
