JJ Hanrahan was linked earlier this week with a return to Munster when his current deal expires with Northampton at the end of the season.
The Kerry native has spent the last two seasons with the Saints but is reportedly now interested in return home after an indifferent spell with the English Premiership side. Rassie Erasmus revealed yesterday when asked about the situation, that informal talks had been held with the versatile back.
It seems the same goes for Northampton right now as Jim Mallinder has confirmed that the Saints are also still locked in talks with Hanrahan and ultimately the ball is in his court, but it seems an offer is there on the table from the Premiership side.
Speaking at a media session yesterday, Mallinder didn’t deny the Munster link, but assured the press that the Saints were very much still in negotiations.
There’s nothing confirmed there. We’re still talking with him and a number of other members of our squad in terms of what we and they want to do.
The Saints boss also confirmed that he will be fit and ready for this weekend’s clash with Leinster in Dublin after coming off with an ankle injury this past weekend.
