Today is no ordinary day in Thomond Park.
Anthony Foley tragically lost his life last week and today Munster will honour their fallen coach and captain, but above all they will honour a husband and father who’s life was take away from him at the tender age of 42.
As a mark of respect, the Munster players will be wearing special jerseys with the name ‘Axel’ below the crest today and for all their Champions Cup games this season. Glasgow Warriors will also bear the the name of Axel on their jersey for this afternoon’s match.
CJ Stander will wear the number 24 on the pack of his jersey today as the number 8 jersey will be retired in honour of Foley for today’s match.
Books of condolence will also open before and after the match in the fan zone.
