To be fair Thomond Park doesn’t exactly sell out every week anymore.
JJ Hanrahan made the choice to take a job offer in England much to the dismay of Munster fans last season. By all accounts, he has settled in quite well ousting long-term outhalf Stephen Mylser and receiving a ton of praise from the English press for his displays in the Aviva Premiership and Champions Cup in the process.
JJ has been sharing his thoughts on all things Premiership today, as well as making the case for why he should be in the Ireland squad for the next Six Nations, but one comment in particular will really infuriate the fans of his former club.
“You want to get in there and stay in there – and that’s why I moved here. I’ve absolutely no doubts at all I made the right move.
“This is a great club with great support, I’ve never played in front of a stadium sold out so regularly.
“The boys and coaching staff are great and I’m really, really enjoying it.”
Whether he meant it as a dig at Munster or not… The fact is, Thomond Park doesn’t sell out regularly anymore like it once did.
