Munster are closing in on their man.
Rassie Erasmus’ replacement looks to have been found with an announcement expected in the coming weeks. The South African is set to leave his post in December at the very latest to take up a role as the SARU’s director of rugby.
IRFU performance director David Nucifora was asked about the recruitment process today, revealing that they have found their man, and hope to agree a deal soon.
“We’re talking closely with someone and we’d be hopeful that if things continue to go well an agreement might be reached,” Nucifora said in an interview with TV3′s Sinead Kissane today.
“We’d be hopeful that in the coming weeks we’ve something we can announce.”
“That’s been the key thing all along that we didn’t want to rush it, that we got the right person.”
The man in question is believed to be former Western Force coach Dave Wessels, who worked under Erasmus previously at the Stormers.
