Doesn’t look good.
Munster got their PRO14 campaign off to an excellent start with a comfortable win over 34-3 win over Italian minnows Treviso at Musgrave Park on Friday.
The win however, came with a price as promising young centre Dan Goggin was stretchered off after replacing Chris Farrell in the 66th minute. Goggin lasted just 8 minutes, before being forced off with a nasty knee injury.
Results on a scan are expected back today, but Munster say he will spend “the foreseeable future” on the sidelines.
There is a bit of good news for Munster however, with the likes of Irish international Niall Scannell, Dave Kilcoyne, John Ryan, Rory Scannell, Keith Earls and Simon Zebo set to comeback into contention for selection agains the Cheetahs at Thomond Park this weekend.
Thanks for all the kind messages of support. Gutted to be sidelined for awhile and will have full results of the knee when scan comes back. pic.twitter.com/P3rweqFVJM
