The Munster resurgence continues.
Munster proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with this season by demolishing last year’s finalists Racing 92 in Paris. The southern province secured a bonus-point win before the hour mark thanks to tries by Zebo, Stander, Conway and Niall Scannell.
Rassie Erasmus’ men dominated the game from start to finish, setting up a mouth-watering top of the table clash against Glasgow in Scotstoun next weekend. Should Munster manage to come away win at win next week, a home quarter final is almost guaranteed.
Munster did Anthony Foley proud today in their first visit to Paris since his tragic passing and along the way reached some very special milestones. Simon Zebo became the first man to reach a half-century of tries for the famous province while fellow winger Keith Earls reached a half-century of his own, coming off the bench to earn his 50th Champions Cup cap.
Zebo’s try was Munster’s 400th try in Europe and become just the third side to achieve such a feat, alongside the Leicester Tigers and Toulouse. All eyes now turn to Glasgow next week and Munster look to continue their phenomenal run of form.
CJ Stander also reached a milestone today by picking up his umpteenth man of the match!
