Yesterday was a very special day.
Munster was once again united yesterday as it bid farewell to one of their most famous sons. Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley tragically passed away last Sunday, but you can be damn sure he was looking down on Thomond Park yesterday with a big grin on his face.
The players and the fans came together and put on performances, reminiscent of Foley’s playing days. United in support, united in song, and united on all playing fronts, it was a truly befitting day in honour of the man.
Many of the players today thanked the fans for their rapturous support, and showed the world just want Munster meant to them. Every Munster fan needs to now take note- the 16th man truly makes the difference.
Yesterday cannot just be a once off, if they can stick with Munster from here on out and keep filling stadiums, then the mantra can come through- ‘To the brave and the FAITHFUL, nothing is IMPOSSIBLE.
