Wanted man.
Munster are in danger of losing Simon Zebo with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season. The Ireland international is being chased by Pau according to reports in The Irish Independent this morning.
Pau have lured a number of Munster players to France over the last few seasons, including James Coughlan, Paddy Butler, Sean Dougall and Dave Foley. Their head coach is also former Munster assistant Simon Mannix.
Zebo, who’s father is French and speaks the language fluently, has made it no secret that he wants to experience playing in France at some stage in his career. Whether or not he would be willing to make the move at 27 and sacrifice his international career remains to be seen.
The versatile back doesn’t have a national contract with the IRFU and this interest from Pau may force them to offer him one, or face losing him as they did with Donnacha Ryan and Racing 92.
