There was good news yesterday for Munster coach Anthony Foley with the announcement that flanker Tommy O’Donnell had signed a new deal with the southern province.
The new contract will keep O’Donnell at Munster until at the very least June 2019.
“I am delighted to sign up for a further three years with my home club,” O’Donnell told munsterrugby.ie.
“In committing for such a period I can focus on the job at hand, getting back to full fitness, while knowing I have the opportunity to make a difference and help towards shaping the future of this squad.”
With O’Donnell and CJ Stander now committed to Munster, the focus for Foley and the Munster backroom staff will be on Simon Zebo, who is a target for a number of French and English clubs including Pau- who already have three ex-Munster men on their books, Toulouse & Stade Francais.
Conor Murray and Keith Earls are also yet to sign new deals.
