Joining the sub-Academy ranks at the beginning of the season, the young out-half won inclusion – alongside his older brother
David – in the Munster senior squad for all three pre-season encounters, starting the final game against London Irish. The following month the 18-year-old played his part in Munster Under-20s’ Interprovincial title success.
A former Bedford School player, Ollie Lyons (pictured above) spent time with both the Northampton Saints and Wasps academies. Scoring a try on his debut for Munster ‘A’ – against Ulster Ravens at Naas RFC last April – the 20-year-old back rower went on to represent a Munster Sevens side at the Limerick World Club 7s tournament in August.
