Released.
Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has this morning told Wales international scrumhalf Rhys Webb he is free to leave the French club.
The erratic owner has been on a warpath since their latest shock 19-10 defeat against minnows Agen on Saturday. In the aftermath of that game he let loose on All Black Julian Savea, telling him he’s no longer welcome at the club.
“I’m going to ask for a DNA test. I’ve told him he’s been released and he’s not welcome at Toulon. He’s got a year left on his contract, he can do what he wants.” Boudjellal said regarding Julian Savea
“If I were him, I would apologise and I would go home.”
And Webb, who has admitted he has struggled to adapt to life in France with his family recently moving back to Wales, is also free to pack his bags.
“His agents are offering him to everyone in Wales, yet he’s got a contract with us for another year. A year can be long for the club, but especially for this player, so for me he is released,” Boudjellal said.
“Don’t worry, I won’t hold him back. I’m not going to keep him.”
