Mourad Boudjellal has today confirmed that Steffon Armitage has asked to leave Toulon.
The club’s president has said that the English star wants to leave the French side to return to England, but the English club in question however, must pay compensation for the final year of his contract.
The flanker has reportedly held talks with Eddie Jones and the lure of international rugby has forced his decision. Wasps have emerged as leading contenders as they look to replace George Smith.
