Leinster winger James Lowe has stoked the fire ahead of this weekend’s huge United Rugby Championship clash against provincial rivals Munster at Croke Park.
Over 74,000 tickets have already been sold for the historic game, with the venue heading for an 82,000+ sellout in one of the biggest club games in history – and Lowe has made it clear that friendships will be parked on Saturday.
Lowe says there is a “mutual hate” between the two sides, despite the fact that they are good friends and teammates in green.
“There’s a mutual ‘hate’ of each other,” Lowe said.
“You say it in the most respectful way. There’s some excellent players in that Munster side.
“To watch the growth of the likes of [Craig] Casey, Jack [Crowley] and Calvin [Nash] – they’re all boys who we’d be very, very friendly with when it’s an Irish camp but I can tell you on Saturday, that goes out the window.
“I’m still gonna want to run over Casey, try get one on Jack and the same with Calvin – but I’m sure they’re saying the same thing.”
Roll on Saturday.
