Done deal.
Leinster Rugby look set to to further bolster their pack with the signing of a French international ahead of next season.
Reports last month suggested that they were in talks to sign tighthead prop Rabah Slimani ahead of the 2024-25 season, and now the deal has been confirmed by Clermont Auvergne.
Head coach has Christophe Urios confirmed that Slimani has done a retirement u-turn, having previously made plans to join the coaching staff at the Top 14 side.
Slimani has reportedly already undergone a medical at Leinster with an official announcement imminent.
“He told us of his desire to play again, but we couldn’t match the two years offered to him by Leinster,” Urios told La Montagne.
“In fact, last season, Rabah signed a coaching contract with us.
“There you go, we now have to break this contract between us and we won’t hold it back. I told him that it was an incredible opportunity for him to go and play there.”
Leinster have already signed RG Snyman and Jordie Barrett ahead of next season.
