Leinster are working hard in the transfer market.
The Irish province are set to announce the signing of Australian international Scott Vardy in the coming days, with his club the Brumbies announcing his departure late last night.
The back-row, who is expected to be deployed in the second-row under Leo Cullen, said he’s looking forward to joining Leinster next season.
In today’s Irish Independent, David Kelly reports that Leinster are interested in Maori All Blacks star James Lowe, as a potential replacement for the departing Zane Kirchner.
The 24-year-old currently plays his rugby with Super Rugby franchise the Chiefs, and offers tremendous pace. He can play across the back-line and would be seen as an excellent acquisition for the eastern province.
Lowe recently told Stuff.co.nz that to play for the All Blacks is still his aim. However, his contract is up at the end of this season and several teams have already ‘come knocking’.
There’s always interest overseas but I haven’t made any decisions yet.
I don’t know quite what I’m going to do.
Lowe played against Munster back in November, grabbing his side’s first try in Thomond Park.
