Replacement.
Leinster are reportedly lining up a huge Springboks superstar to replace Jordie Barrett at the end of the season.
Barrett joined Leinster over the Christmas on a short-term sabbatical deal from the Super Rugby side, the Hurricanes in New Zealand.
The All Black has been a revelation for the province alongside fellow new signings RG Snyman and Rabah Slimani, who have both inked new deals and will stay beyond this season.
Barrett’s deal, however, was always going to be a short-term one, with no option to extend. But Leinster are lining up another superstar who can slot in seamlessly across the backline, with Neil Fissler in RugbyPass reporting that they are lining up a move for Springboks superstar, Damian Willemse.
The 26-year-old double World Cup winner is keen on the move, the report states.
The report adds that billionaire Leinster superfan Paul Coulson, who is also the largest individual shareholder in Ardagh (where Johnny Sexton is the Chief of Staff) and bought a stake in the Stormers last year, could help broker a deal for Willemse.
