Manu Tuilagi likely won’t kick a ball again this season.
Leicester revealed earlier this month their England centre had damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for around six months. It’s the latest in a long list of injuries for the Tigers star, and leaves them short of options at centre.
Summer signing Matt Toomua is also currently sidelined, and not expected to be back for another three months at least, leaving the Tigers no choice but to bring in some short-term cover, as they look to turn their season around.
The Rugby Paper are reporting tonight that the Premiership club have brought Maxime Mermoz in from Toulon. The 38 times capped French international is another centre that has suffered from a spate of injuries, similar to Tuilagi.
However should he arrive at Welford Road, fit and ready, he could end up being a great signing for Aaron Mauger’s men.
