Top class.
Anthony Foley’s father Brendan has revealed that Ireland and Leinster star Johnny Sexton sent a very special birthday gift to the former Munster captain’s son Dan back in March.
Brendan was on Claire Byrne live chatting about Munster’s famous win over the all All Blacks, celebrating the 40 year anniversary, when he got chatting about a parcel the Foley’s received earlier this year.
Without saying a word, Sexton sent his jersey from the famous win over France in the Six Nations, where he kicked a last-gasp drop goal that ensured Ireland could go on to claim a famous Grand Slam.
“There was another special moment – I am going to ruin a man’s reputation now – a parcel arrived in the post last March and just to coincide, it was Dan’s birthday,” said Brendan.
“Nobody took any notice of the parcel on the day but later on that night the parcel was opened. Who’s jersey was it but Johnny Sexton’s. The one that he wore in Paris, the day he scored the winning point.”
Absolutely top class from Sexton. A wonderful gesture.
