Congrats.
Joey Carbery recently ended months of speculation by revealing that he has decided to leave Leinster and move to provincial rivals Munster ahead of next season.
The 22-year-old was approached by IRFU performance director David Nucifora and head coach Joe Schmidt back in April about leaving the eastern province, in search of more game time at ten ahead of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
It was initially thought he would move up north to solve Ulster’s problems at ten, making his move to Munster a bit of a surprise. But ultimately it was his decision, and he clearly felt a move to the southern province suited him better.
But of course with the move comes plenty of slagging. Conor Murray revealed earlier this month that the Irish lads have starting calling him ‘ROG’, and now Johnny Sexton has got in on the action.
Carbery recently updated his LinkedIn profile, changing his employer from Leinster Rugby to Munster Rugby and Sexton simply couldn’t resist. Excellent banter between the two.
