Despite Luke Fitzgerald’s injury, Joe Schmidt has thus far resisted calling up a replacement.
Leinster however don’t have a game this weekend and as a result Schmidt has taken the decision to call Garry Ringrose up to Ireland training in Carton House today.
It’s not the first time Ringrose has trained with Ireland but being called in so close to the Wales game is a very good indication that the young star is now in Schmidt’s Six Nations plans.
It may be too late to break into the squad so close to the game but if he trains well, who knows?
