Thank you Joe.
Ireland boss Joe Schmidt bids farewell to the Aviva Stadium this afternoon with an incredible win record no matter what happens against Wales.
Schmidt has taken charge of Ireland at the iconic Landsdowne Road venue a total of 33 times before today, winning 27 of those games, drawing one and losing just five times.
The likes of New Zealand, England, Australia, South Africa, Wales, Argentina, Scotland and France have all been defeated there by Ireland in that time, with Schmidt currently holding an astonishing 82% win record at home.
“There were the sad days, like 2013 against the All Blacks, but they’re counter-balanced now because whoever has come here we’ve managed to beat at some stage through the last six years so it’s been a privilege,” Schmidt said this week when asked about his memories at the Aviva
Let’s hope he’ll make it 28 wins from 34 later today.
