Wanted man.
Jerome Kaino looks set to become the latest All Black to move to cash rich Europe, with Toulon favourites to land the back-rower’s signature.
Kaino’s agent, Esportif’s Bruce Sharrock, has confirmed to the NZ Herald that daily discussions are on-going with Toulon. Nothing has been signed, and other options are being explored, but it appears a move to Europe is on the cards for the All Blacks forward.
Kaino is understood to have an out clause that allows him to leave after next year’s Super Rugby season, and also has reportedly had offers to move to Japan.
He recently turned 35 in April, and was dropped by All Blacks boss Steve Hansen this year. It looks like it’s now or ever for Kaino to cash in, and a move to Europe seems highly likely. In terms of Toulon, Duane Vermeulen’s potential return to the Stormers leaves an opening in the loose forwards.
