Toulon utility back James O’Connor could be on his way to the English Premiership.
The Wallaby international will not have his contract renewed at the end of the season by the French club after being suspended and fined for being caught in possession with cocaine following an incident with former All Blacks lock Ali Williams.
The playmaker has been in talks with a number of clubs in recent weeks and has now reportedly held talks with Sale Sharks according to The Rugby Paper.
Sale have been searching for a new outhalf for a number of months now ahead of next season and it now seems O’Connor could be the man to fill that role.
The Rugby Paper are also reporting that Sale winger Denny Solomona has been provisionally called into Eddie Jones’ squad for their summer tour to Argentina.
