Just imagine the hangover.
Exeter’s Jack Nowell tasted Premiership glory on Saturday afternoon before grabbing an incredible 200-mile taxi to link up with the British & Irish Lions in London.
Nowell’s side claimed their first Premiership title thanks to an extra-time penalty from Irishman Gareth Steenson on Saturday, capping off their incredible journey which saw them promoted to the top tier of English rugby just seven years ago.
The win over Wasps will live long in the memory and Nowell was determined to bask in as much of the glory as he possibly could before linking up with Warren Gatland’s squad.
“I had a taxi booked for 7am,” said Nowell.
“Times like this don’t come round often. I wasn’t going to miss any of it.”
The advertised cost of the journey is £463, but we’re pretty sure that was the last thing on the England winger’s mind.
