On the mend.
Ireland look set to receive a massive boost ahead of next year’s Six Nations as the men in green look to defend their title.
Hooker Dan Sheehan has been out of action since picking up a devastating ACL injury last July in the first Test against South Africa in Pretoria – but could be back a lot sooner than expected.
Ireland’s lineout struggled during the Autumn Nations Series, as did Leinster’s in the Champions Cup yesterday evening, but it looks like Sheehan is way ahead of schedule and could be back in action by January.
“I spoke to him earlier, he’s hoping the end of January, which would be way ahead of schedule,” said Bernard Jackman before yesterday’s game between Leinster and Clermont on the RTÉ commentary.
Sheehan’s early return could be huge for both Ireland and Leinster and will undoubtedly be welcomed with open arms.
