Ireland look certain to be without Iain Henderson for their meeting with New Zealand in Chicago on Saturday week.
The Ulster star picked up a shoulder problem in their Champions Cup win over Exeter last Saturday and it is expected he will need between two and four weeks to recover, ruling him out of Ireland’s crucial test with the reigning world champions.
“Sometimes you say two to four and you get held to it but we have to see how it responds in the first week,” revealed Ulster Director of Rugby Les Kiss.
Ireland will also find out today if they will be without Keith Earls for any of the series following his weekend red card but Leinster say Johnny Sexton is fit and ready.
Ireland take on New Zealand, Australia and Canada as part of their November series.
