Just when Irish fans began to admit defeat, reports are now starting to come in that will surely delight them.
Schmidt’s family issues have been much publicised and have led many to believe that they will force him to part ways with Ireland when his contract end next year. Several Super Rugby clubs have both expressed interest and made initial inquiries to his availability including the Chiefs.
Many believe his family issues and the lure of returning home to set himself up for an eventual role with the All Blacks will prove to much for him but it has now emerged that Schmidt has made a decision and that is to sign a new deal with Ireland that will bring him up to the Rugby World Cup in 2019 at the very least.
As soon as we know more on these reports, we will be sure to update you. As things stand- the signs look good.
