Man down.
Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt will be sweating on the fitness of Leinster fullback Rob Kearney after he shipped a heavy blow in today’s bonus-point win over Benetton Treviso.
Kearney made his return to the Leinster starting line-up this afternoon after missing the shock Champions Cup pool loss to Toulouse in France last weekend, but was unable to finish the game.
The 32-year old hit the ground hard after a thumping hit from hooker Epalahame Faiva just five minutes in the second-half and was unable to continue, meaning Robbie Henshaw had to move into fullback.
The Ireland squad meet at Carton House tomorrow, and Schmidt and his team will no doubt be hoping Kearney isn’t too hurt, especially with Andrew Conway missing Munster’s game too with illness.
