Jaco Taute faces six months on the sidelines, after injury his knee in the first-half of Munster’s PRO14 win over the Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park on Saturday afternoon.
The South African centre underwent surgery today for knee ligament damage repair.
“Jaco Taute will undergo surgery today after the specialist confirmed the South African centre suffered knee ligament damage against Cardiff Blues on Saturday,” a Munster statement read.
“The 26-year-old is expected to follow a rehabilitation programme for approximately six months.”
Up next for Munster is Leinster at the Aviva, who have some serious problems at centre themselves, with a number of first-team regulars unavailable for the clash.
