The Rugby World Cup 2019 draw took place in Japan this morning.
Ireland have been drawn in Pool A alongside Scotland and Japan while holders New Zealand have been drawn alongside rivals South Africa and Conor O’Shea’s Italy.
The toughest group of them all is no doubt Pool C with Eddie Jones’ England set to take on France and 2015 semi-finalists Argentina. Wales have once again been drawn alongside the Wallabies, with Georgia also joining them in what could be an interesting group.
In the wake of the draw, Paddy Power have released the latest odds for the tournament and it appears they are quietly confident that Ireland could end up going all the way, despite never getting past quarter final stages.
Understandably the All Blacks are favourites, followed by England and then little old Ireland. Not bad at all.
After the draw, we make Ireland 5/1 to win the Rugby World Cup! Betting here: https://t.co/zz0d6HigvY #RWC2019 pic.twitter.com/1fw75n0ylR
