Robbie Henshaw is fit to face Romania in Sunday’s Rugby World Cup Pool D at Wembley.
That’s according to team manager Michael Kearney, who reports that Head Coach Joe Schmidt has a fully fit squad to pick from.
“As in any match we would be managing players in and out of training, so some guys who may have trained yesterday may have sat out today,” explained Kearney.
“The good news to report is that every player is fit and available for the match on Sunday, so team announcement coming up on Friday.”
Henshaw missed last weekend’s 50-7 opening round win over Canada in Cardiff due to a hamstring injury.
There were worries that he would miss out on the Romania game too, which would have left him struggling to re-establish himself in the team ahead of the crunch group fixtures with Italy and France on October 4 and 11 respectively.
However, Kearney’s comments suggest that he is in line for a place in the team that Schmidt will announce on Friday.
Luke Fitzgerald and Jared Payne formed the midfield partnership in his absence against Canada and played well together, with Payne crossing for one of Ireland’s seven tries.
With games every weekend over four weeks the Irish management are likely to make changes between every game.
