Interesting…
Conor Murray’s injury and the secrecy behind it has reached the UK over the weekend – with a number of journalists questioning the whole scenario and what it means for rugby going forward.
We’ve said it many times here that we see absolutely nothing wrong with Murray’s decision to keep his medical records private and we stand by that. Sure it’s frustrating as fans, but it’s sensitive information at the end of the day and he’s perfectly entitled to withhold it.
What I’m here to talk about however, is Murray’s whereabouts on over the weekend. With Munster taking on Leinster at the Aviva Stadium in a huge inter-provincial clash, you’d imagine Murray would be in attendance…
Yet for some reason he was in France for Racing 92’s clash with Lyon at the U-Arena. This was Murray’s second visit to the French capital in as many weeks and raises a lot of questions.
He was pictured with former teammates Simon Zebo and Donnacha Ryan having dinner in Paris last week, and was in attendance for Racing’s Top 14 game over the weekend – holding a Racing 92 flag. He even reportedly met their president Jacky Lorenzetti.
Not that I want to add anything to all the Conor Murray speculation, but he was in Paris, saw @racing92 v @LeLOURugby and met Jacky Lorenzetti, and #Midol's not quite sure what to make of it. So they've done a 'why was he there?' arch brief thing – and not mentioned 'the injury'

With Murray’s contract set to expire at the end of the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year, could he be lining up a potential move to France? Murray and Zebo are best friends, and a team like Racing may be prepared to offer him a contract worth €1 million+ give his status.
Definitely worthwhile keeping an eye on this one. Maybe there’s nothing in it and he was just visiting friends. But you just never know.
