One of the easier contracts?
Peter O’Mahony’s future with Munster and Ireland is in serious doubt, with the back-row turning down a deal from the IRFU to extend his contract beyond this summer.
O’Mahony is reportedly being targeted by French and English clubs, with the Munster captain said to be unhappy with the terms offered by Ireland, as he feels he’s being undervalued.
The Cork native has long been lined up as a future Ireland captain, after taking over from Paul O’Connell at Munster at such a young age. He captained the Lions in the 1st Test against New Zealand this summer, and is regarded as one of the finest back-rowers in world rugby today.
Gordon D’Arcy like most is a little baffled. He reckons a deal for a player like O’Mahony should be relatively straightforward given what he has done for Ireland, Munster and the Lions.
I really surprised over this, inspired win v Eng this year, captained the Lions and is Munster rugby. One of the easier contracts to do??? https://t.co/fdTL7ub5TM
